The original house was a well-known, award wining design by John Scott built in 1956.
A complete overhaul was in need but retaining its original design/ feel was the brief. When striping back layers to inspect the state of the house the worse it got! We ended up rebuilding almost the entire house adding in structural members to meet new standards and replacing most of the framing, all cladding, Exterior joinery, roof, linings etc. Extra windows and a section of glass balustrade helped maximise the views from the incredible site.

Architect John Scott was known for his unique buildings, incorporating ideas from Māori and cultural architecture. Beck Building has done a fantastic job retaining the original building fabric, where possible, and consistently maintaining the architectural essence of the house. Impressed with the meticulous preservation of the original building, Beck Building showcased a deep appreciation for the house's heritage.
